Golf Course Bunker Slopes & Rough Area Maintenance
Target Customers
Golf course maintenance managers, golf course owners, and landscaping service providers.
The Challenge
Rainy Season Maintenance Became a Nightmare “Every time we had to trim the bunker slopes during the rainy season, it felt like a nightmare.” Mark, the maintenance manager of an 18-hole championship golf course, faced this challenge every year. The course has over 60 bunkers, and the surrounding bunker slopes and rough areas cover more than 20 acres.
During the rainy season, maintaining these areas became increasingly difficult.
Key Problems
Equipment Getting Stuck
Traditional riding mowers often lose traction on bunker slopes. The wheels slip into the sand, leaving the machine stuck while damaging the delicate turf around the bunker edges. Repairing the damaged grass can be costly.
Extremely Low Manual Efficiency
Workers using handheld brush cutters could only maintain about 500 m² per day per person, and the repetitive manual work quickly caused fatigue and declining productivity.
No Operation During Rainy Weather
Whenever it rained, the slopes became too slippery for equipment. All maintenance work had to stop, allowing weeds to grow rapidly and affecting the visual quality of the course.
Member Complaints
Unmaintained rough areas made it difficult for players to locate lost balls. Complaints from members increased, with many saying: “This doesn’t look like a championship-level golf course.”
As Mark recalled:
“The phone call I feared the most every month was from a member asking: Mark, when are you going to cut the grass around the bunkers?’”
Our Solution:
Smooth Like a Golf Cart, Precise Like a Groundskeeper We recommended the AV-800LRemote-Controlled Tracked Mower, specifically designed for bunker slopes and rough terrain maintenance.
Ultra-Low Ground Pressure Tracks
The machine has a ground pressure of only 0.15 kg/cm², which is even lower than the pressure exerted by a person walking. This allows the mower to move smoothly along bunker edges without sinking into sand or damaging the turf.
Floating Cutting Deck
The specialized floating deck automatically adjusts to uneven terrain. Whether trimming bunker slopes or rolling rough areas, it delivers a smooth finish comparable to greenside maintenance quality.
Remote Operation
Operators can stand safely on flat ground outside the bunker while remotely controlling the machine to work on steep slopes and rough areas. This eliminates the traditional “operator chasing the mower” workflow.
Ready for Rainy Conditions
The tracked system maintains excellent traction on wet grass. Maintenance can resume as soon as two hours after rainfall, significantly expanding the maintenance window.

Customer Feedback
“Before, finishing all bunker slope trimming meant working until sunset. Now we can finish it in the time it takes to drink a cup of coffee.”
“I used to dread the rainy season. Now I actually look forward to it — because fast grass growth is the perfect chance to show how powerful this machine is.”
